Programs

All Public Health Units in Ontario ensure access to harm reduction supplies in their region through a core harm reduction program, also known as a needle syringe program (NSP). Each NSP provides access to sterile safer injection and safer inhalation supplies reflective of community needs. Many also offer safe disposal of used equipment and additional education resources for safer use.

It is important that harm reduction service providers be aware of the safe and proper use of all harm reduction supplies and proper disposal practices.  They need to also educate individuals about the risks of reusing and sharing harm reduction supplies. For more information, contact your local Public Health Unit or Harm Reduction Program. Unsure where that is? Check out our Find Supplies Map.
